The Himachal Pradesh government has called on citizens to actively support officials conducting the second phase of Census-2027. Running through September 2026 across the state’s snow-bound pockets, this phase focuses on detailed Population Enumeration.
Officials are urging residents to provide accurate information to census field workers at their present place of stay to ensure full coverage.
The government reassured the public that all responses are legally protected under the Census Act of 1948. Collected data is strictly used for national development planning and statistical analysis—it is entirely exempt from RTI requests and cannot be cited in court proceedings.
