Himachal Pradesh may see light rain and snowfall from December 14 due to an active Western Disturbance, while minimum temperatures remain below 5°C at 13 locations, with three places in minus. Sub-zero temperatures have frozen springs, lakes, and waterfalls in Lahaul-Spiti, including Lingati stream and waterfall, while Shimla and other areas enjoy sunny weather.

Minimum temperatures recorded today include Shimla 9.6°C, Sundernagar 2.9°C, Manali 2.7°C, and Tabo -7.1°C. According to Mausam Vigyan Kendra, the state will remain mostly dry until tomorrow, with clear weather expected on December 15–16. A yellow fog alert is in place for low-lying areas from December 10–12.

Following recent snowfall, Shinkula Pass at 16,800 feet has emerged as a new tourist snow point after the closure of the Manali-Leh route. The Lahaul-Spiti administration has allowed four-by-four vehicles to reach the pass, boosting winter tourism. Local tourism operators have welcomed the move, citing increased business opportunities.
