Hindi, the mother tongue of the Nation has been recognized as one of the richest languages in the World today. The month of September is marked for the celebration of Hindi Divas throughout the country and schools take active part in the same. Dayanand Public School, Shimla also organized a cultural programme to mark the occasion. The programme was conceptualized by the Hindi Department of the school.
The programme was inaugurated by the School Principal Anupama, at nine in the morning and celebrations continued till two in the afternoon. A number of cultural events including dance, songs, self composed poetry recital, hasya kavi 
sammelan, doha recital and plays were performed to commemorate the day. The programmes not only entertained the students but also introduced them to the various facets of Hindi language. From the vast expanse of literature to the aspects of grammar, the programme was all encompassing.
Before the event concluded, the Principal applauded the efforts of the students and the Hindi Department of the school, who put together a wonderful show that helped students to understand and appreciate the nuances of our mother tongue. It was a great effort on part of the school to keep our rich cultural heritage alive, of which Hindi is an integral part.
