SJVN, a leading public sector power utility, bid a heartfelt farewell to Akhileshwar Singh, the outgoing Director (Finance), in a special ceremony held at the company’s Corporate Headquarters in Shimla. The event was attended by Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel), Chandra Shekhar Yadav, Executive Director (HR), and other senior officials and employees of the SJVN family. During the event, employees expressed their warm wishes to Akhileshwar Singh as he embarks on the next phase of his professional journey.

Akhileshwar Singh began his illustrious career with Hindustan Paper Corporation Limited before joining SJVN in 1993 as Senior Officer (Finance). In January 2020, he assumed the pivotal role of Director (Finance) and led the company through a period of remarkable financial growth and expansion. Under his leadership, SJVN achieved unprecedented progress in its capital expenditure (CapEx), while significantly enhancing shareholder value.

One of Singh’s notable accomplishments was his in-depth understanding of SEBI regulations and market dynamics, which played a crucial role in boosting SJVN’s stock price. From ₹24.09 per share in 2019, the company’s share price surged to ₹170 in 2024, reflecting a robust financial performance and investor confidence.

Additionally, Akhileshwar Singh spearheaded SJVN’s renewable energy expansion, driving the company towards its ambitious target of 28,240 MW in renewable capacity. His leadership was instrumental in the commissioning of five major solar power projects between 2022 and 2025, including the 75 MW Parasan Solar Power Station, 75 MW Gurah Solar Power Station, and 50 MW Gujrai Solar Power Station in Uttar Pradesh, the 100 MW Raghanseda Solar Power Station in Gujarat, and the 90 MW Omkareshwar Solar Power Station in Madhya Pradesh.

Singh’s role as the Head of SJVN’s Renewable Energy Implementing Agency (REIA) also contributed significantly to the awarding of 1.5 GW of solar projects in November 2023. Additional projects of 1.5 GW (Hybrid) and 1.5 GW (solar) are also on the verge of being awarded, further cementing his legacy in the renewable energy sector.

Akhileshwar Singh was born on December 11, 1964, in Siwan district, Bihar. He holds a postgraduate degree in Business Management (Finance) from Patna University. Married to Rita Singh, he is the proud father of daughter Anupama and son Abhinav.

Throughout his tenure, Akhileshwar Singh’s professional excellence, visionary leadership, and unwavering dedication have left an indelible mark on SJVN.
