The Directorate of School Education, Himachal Pradesh, has declared a state-wide holiday for all government schools on Monday, August 17, 2026.
The notification, issued on August 15 by Ashish Kohli (IAS), Director of School Education, states that the day off is being granted to appreciate the enthusiastic participation of students and teachers in Independence Day celebrations across school, subdivision, district, and state levels.
Education officials, including Deputy Directors and School Principals, have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with the order throughout Himachal Pradesh.
