HP Holds Red Ribbon Quiz to Raise HIV Awareness

The Himachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society organized a State Level Red Ribbon Quiz Competition to raise awareness among school students about HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), tuberculosis (TB), and related health concerns. The event took place on Tuesday under the leadership of Rajiv Kumar, Project Director of the Society.

Rajiv Kumar emphasized the importance of educating youth about HIV and AIDS, highlighting that informed young individuals can lead positive change, dispel myths, reduce stigma, and promote inclusive and responsible behavior in their communities. He noted that such initiatives foster leadership, encourage social responsibility, and contribute to building a healthier society.

Winning teams from district-level competitions across Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Mandi, Shimla, Sirmaur, and Una participated in the quiz.

Winners of the Quiz:

  • 1st Place: Government Senior Secondary School, Sanjauli (Shimla) – Ishan Jogta & Trikansh Sharma. They will represent Himachal Pradesh at the Regional Level Quiz organized by the National AIDS Control Organization on September 22, 2025.

  • 2nd Place: Government Senior Secondary School, Amrohi (Hamirpur) – Asheenca Thakur & Tamanna.

  • 3rd Place: Government Senior Secondary School, Solan – Ishan & Saransh Thakur.

Prizes were distributed to all participants by Rajiv Kumar, who congratulated the students and encouraged them to continue being advocates of awareness and empathy in their communities.
