HP State Government Grants Paid Holiday For Panchayat By-Elections 2024

As per the notification of the State Government, 25th February 2024, has been declared as a paid holiday (in case poll is held) in the areas of Gram Panchayats where by-elections would be conducted to fill up the casual vacancies of the Panchayati Raj Institutions, (PRIs) in the State. This will be a paid holiday to daily wages employees and also within the meaning of under Section 25 of Negotiable Instrument Act 1881.

All government offices, Board, Corporations, Educational Institutions, Banks, Post Office and Industries registered under Industrial Dispute Act along with shops registered in the polling areas will also remain closed on that day.

The casual leave may be given to those employees who are working in different places in the state but have the right to vote in the concerned panchayat, after producing a certificate from the concerned presiding officer.
