The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) has announced a scheduled shutdown of the 66kV Jutogh–Gumma–Sainj–Hulli transmission line on December 20, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, as part of essential winter maintenance works.

The shutdown is being undertaken to ensure reliable power supply during the winter season. Maintenance activities will include tree lopping to clear the transmission corridor, replacement of the R-phase conductor at the 132/66/33kV Jutogh sub-station, and servicing of main transformers and associated electrical equipment at Jutogh and other connected 66kV substations.

Due to the power shutdown, pumping operations of the Lift Water Supply Schemes (LWSS) at Gumma and Giri will be affected, leading to a partial disruption in water supply in Shimla on December 20 and 21. The Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (SJPNL) has advised residents to use water judiciously during this period.

Authorities have expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and assured that the maintenance work is necessary to ensure long-term reliability of power and water supply services in the region.
