The Himachal Pradesh government has extended financial benefits worth ₹239.45 crore to HRTC pensioners over the past three years, a Transport Department spokesperson said, underscoring the state’s focus on employee welfare.
He said that between 1 January 2023 and 30 March 2026, HRTC employees also received ₹74.39 crore in various financial benefits.
For pensioners, ₹35 crore was released to 350 pensioners, ₹174.45 crore towards gratuity and leave encashment for 805 pensioners, ₹2.75 crore for medical reimbursement, ₹24 crore as revised pension benefits for 700 pensioners above 75 years, ₹2.50 crore as pension allowance to 3,800 pensioners, and ₹75 lakh under revised pension-related provisions.
Employees received ₹27.74 crore towards overtime and night-duty allowance, ₹5.50 crore as DA arrears, ₹1.77 crore for medical claims, and ₹39.38 crore towards salaries and arrears.
The spokesperson added that 2,198 contractual employees were regularised and 691 appointments made between 2023–25, including 327 conductors recruited through the Staff Selection Commission.
He said the government is ensuring timely payment of salaries and pensions with a welfare-focused approach for HRTC employees and pensioners.
