In the Shimla rural area, near Kyana village, landslides triggered by heavy rainfall have caused large rocks to block the roads. This has made it extremely difficult for local residents and school children to even walk through the affected areas. Residents are advised to remain indoors and follow safety advisories issued by local authorities.

Continuous heavy rainfall has been affecting several subdivisions, prompting authorities to take precautionary measures to ensure public safety.

The general public is hereby informed that the water flow in the Sutlej River is continuously increasing. As a result, excess water is being released from the Nathpa Dam into the river. All residents are strongly advised to stay away from the riverbanks and maintain a safe distance for their own safety.

Due to persistent and heavy rainfall, the following precautionary measures have been taken across several subdivisions:

  • Kumarsain Subdivision: All educational institutions will remain closed today.
  • Rohru Subdivision: Based on reports from all Tehsils and Sub-Tehsils and considering the severe weather and road conditions, all schools and Anganwadi centers will remain closed today.
  • Jubbal Subdivision: All educational institutions are to remain closed today due to ongoing heavy rainfall.
  • Chopal Subdivision: In light of heavy rain and for the safety of school children, all schools will remain closed under the Disaster Management Act.
  • Jalog Sub Tehsil (Sunni Subdivision): Due to continuous rainfall in this remote area, all educational institutions will remain closed today.
