India Post Unveils Gen-Z Post Office at VIT-AP

Andhra Pradesh’s first Gen-Z transformed campus Post Office was inaugurated today at VIT-AP University, Amaravati, by Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, Minister of State for Rural Development & Communications. The initiative is part of a nationwide effort to modernise campus Post Offices and make them student-centric service hubs.

The inauguration was attended by several dignitaries, including B.P. Sridevi, Chief Postmaster General, Andhra Pradesh Circle; Dr. P. Arulmolivarman, Vice-Chancellor, VIT-AP University; A. Thameem Anasariya, IAS, Collector & District Magistrate, Guntur; Dr. Jagadish Chandra Mudiganti, Registrar, VIT-AP University; and other senior officials and faculty members.

The newly revamped Post Office combines creativity, innovation, and functionality to resonate with Gen-Z sensibilities. It features an India Post literature wall, coffee zone, foosball table, free Wi-Fi, magazine stand, and enhanced digital service access, creating a welcoming environment for students. During the event, the Minister also released a Special Postal Cover titled “VIT: Gen-Z Themed Post Office of Andhra Pradesh.”

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Chandra Sekhar highlighted that the initiative aims to transform Post Offices into modern service centres aligned with the aspirations of young citizens. He stressed that the campus Post Office will familiarize students with essential postal, financial, and digital services in an engaging and accessible way.

Conceptualized specifically for Gen-Z users, the facility offers simplified service delivery, digital payment options, and seamless access to postal, banking, and insurance services under one roof. The project reinforces India Post’s focus on innovation, inclusivity, and financial literacy among students while reimagining traditional Post Offices for the future.
