A massive Jan Sankalp Rally was held at Mandi’s Paddal Ground to mark three years of the present Himachal Pradesh government. Thousands participated, turning the event into a vibrant celebration of public trust, governance reforms, development initiatives and the government’s commitment to Vyavastha Parivartan (systemic transformation).

CM Sukhu, addressing the gathering, said that the last three years reflect a journey of transparent governance, economic reforms and people-centric policies. He emphasised that every decision taken by the government prioritised the welfare, progress and empowerment of citizens, particularly youth, farmers and vulnerable groups.

The Chief Minister noted that the present government inherited a financially distressed state, with the previous BJP government leaving behind massive debt and weakened resources. Despite this, the government initiated historic reforms, fulfilled seven of its ten election guarantees and restored the Old Pension Scheme for 1.36 lakh employees—ensuring dignity and security for retirees, even though it led to reduced borrowing limits imposed by the Centre.

Sharing key initiatives, he highlighted the Rajiv Gandhi Start-up Scheme worth ₹680 crore, introduction of English medium from Class 1 in government schools, the highest MSP on milk in the country, purchase of cow dung to boost farmers’ income and a first-of-its-kind comprehensive horticulture policy. The government has provided 23,200 jobs in three years and strengthened the rural economy through enhanced agricultural support.

The CM said the state faced losses of nearly ₹12,000 crore each during consecutive monsoon disasters, yet the Centre provided no adequate special relief. Despite limited resources, the state government released a relief package of ₹4,500 crore. He urged BJP leaders to present evidence of their claims about Centre’s alleged assistance.

He also highlighted major achievements in education—improving the state’s national ranking to 5th—and health, with the introduction of robotic surgery at AIMSS Chamyana and Tanda. The state is also investing heavily in modernising healthcare and expanding tourism infrastructure, including an international-level zoo at Bankhandi.

The Chief Minister outlined the government’s push towards making Himachal a Green Energy State, with six green corridors established and plans to meet 90% of the state’s future energy needs through renewables. Improved revenue management and new excise policies have generated an additional ₹3,000 crore in three years. He asserted that the government is committed to eliminating drug abuse and protecting the future of young people.

Sukhu thanked the people for their unwavering trust and said the coming years would bring continued reform and transparent governance. He called upon citizens to join hands in building a prosperous and self-reliant Himachal.

Congress in-charge Rajani Patil praised the performance of the state government, saying it delivered real outcomes despite challenges and strengthened both economic and social foundations of the state. She condemned BJP’s attempts to destabilise democracy and expressed confidence in Congress returning to power.

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri and State Congress President Vinay Kumar highlighted the government’s achievements across various sectors, stating that the “Himachal Model” is gaining national recognition. Ministers and MLAs also addressed the rally, and a documentary on three years of government achievements was screened.

The event was attended by senior officials, party leaders, public representatives and citizens from across the state.
