A day of revelry and merriment was witnessed in Convent of Jesus and Mary School as it was time for their annual Fete. The fate was inaugurated by Principal Sister Shyma Jose. Students and parents from all over the city came to enjoy visiting various food and game stalls, each set up and managed by teachers and students. Sister Jose said, “The fete had been a success this year. The afternoon was filled with fun, cheers and smiles. Not only the students but the teachers and all the sisters residing in the school enjoyed the event. I am well aware of the fact that it is the most awaited event of the year and I make sure that the girls enjoy their day to the fullest. I am really grateful to all the parents for their immense support and my faculty for all their hard work”.

Notable stalls this year included novelty and flowers stall. There was also a book stall, a miniature gaming arcade, and the ever popular food court. Giant Hopping Balloon was a great hit among the tiny tots. Children of all ages had something to amuse, from bouncing castles, hitting the cans and tail the donkey for the young, to skill games for the older ones. Jam Session was the icing on the cake for the young crowd. Other games included lucky dip, hit the joker, aim at it right and hoopla. The active participation of Sister Jose herself raised the verve and enthusiasm of the girls.

Class teacher Bhagwati Chauhan said, “It is an enjoyable time not only for the students but also for us. We get to interact with the parents and the girls, which helps in building a healthy relationship with them”. Tanya, a student of class nine expressed her happiness by saying that “I am very happy as my whole family has come with me to enjoy in the fete. Both my parents are working because of which we don’t get enough family time. Every year school fete gives me a chance to spend some quality time with my family and have lots of fun”. Shreya, a class 10 student said, “This is my last year in the school and I will surely cherish few fond and precious memories with me of the fete as I had a gala time with my friends. I will really miss all the teachers, the principal and these fun days of my school life”.

The event was as always, a resounding success and everyone had a wonderful time !!!
