Save Our Earth, Save Our Life !!!
Junior Wing of Auckland House Girls School celebrated their Annual Speech Day with full fervour and zeal as Ashish Kohli, Additional Director, Elementary Education, Himachal Pradesh, Shimla, presided over the function as the chief guest. The tiny tots were filled with excitement and enthusiasm and displayed their talents in the form of dances, songs and different theme based plays. Auckland House School Director-Principal Sunita John accompanied by Principal Boys Wing Micheal A John warmly welcomed the chief guest, distinguished guests and all the parents present to witness the gala event. Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Neeraj Bharti was also present to encourage his ward. The morning began with the lighting of the lamp followed by a Welcome Song by students of Form I and II ‘Mujhe Apna Darshan’.
What followed next was pure treat for the eyes as students of Form II enticed the audience with the play ‘The Pied Piper’, as the well dressed, clever town folk, the cute mice running around and sweet children, all perfectly executed the act till the end. Tiny tots of Nursery class looked very cute while performing the Kashmiri folk dance ‘Bhumro Bhumro’, followed by an action song ‘There was a Princess’ and Punjabi Gidda’ by students of Lower Kindergarten. Other equally entertaining items were the ‘Gummy Bear’ action song, and the South Indian and Garba dances, which all received huge applause from the parents. The grand finale was a skit by the students of Upper Kindergarten and Form I titled ‘Save Us’ through which they conveyed the message of keeping our mother Earth clean and green by avoiding deforestation and pollution.
Principal Sunita John then stepped up and read the school report, in which she presented the details of the academic as well as co-curricular activities that took place during the current year. She informed that all 333 students participated in the annual programme today. The emphasis is on the all round development of the children and the school ensures that students play an active role in every form. She also outlined the various competitions the girls participated in, be it within the school, inter-school or at the district level. (see video clip)
Chief Guest Kohli congratulated all the students for putting up a beautiful show and lauded the efforts of the school management and the faculty for grooming the children to such great levels. He also appreciated the hard work and patience of the parents who help their children at every step to achieve great feats. Thereafter, the chief guest distributed the prizes for various disciplines.
