A two-day gala event at Auckland Girls House School, Shimla, was held as the Junior Annual Function was conducted on the 27th, while the Senior School Annual Function was on 28th of the month. All the students gave amazing performances and proved that it is not just the academics that they excel at, but the overall grooming in the school helped them to take the stage on in full confidence and with full gusto.
The Junior Section Speech Day was presided over by Dr Shonali Sood, Associate Professor and Head Department of Psychology, St. Bede’s College Shimla. The children performed a variety of dances, plays and action songs. The Musical ‘Rumpelstiltskin” by the girls of Form-II enthralled the audience. The girls of Form-I presented a Hindi play title ‘Bhasha Se Parichay’ which laid emphasis on the power of words. The children made their parents proud by displaying immense talent.
A brief report of the school was given by the Director Principal Sunita John highlighting the achievements of the students in the year 2018. The chief guest applauded the staff and the students for putting up a grand show.
The programme ended on a happy note with the distribution of various prizes for outstanding performance in academics and art.

The Senior Speech Day held on 28th was presided over by Rajeshwari Batta, Deputy Director, Higher Education, Himachal Pradesh as she was warmly welcomed by the Director Principal, Sunita John and Michael A John, Principal, Auckland House School for Boys.
The programme commenced with the Prize Distribution ceremony. The Director Principal presented the Annual Report of the school, highlighting the achievements and laurels won by the school. The honourable chief guest gave away the prizes to the meritorious and deserving students. This was followed by a cultural programme comprising of choir performances, rendition of Indian Classical Music and the Auckland House School Band — ‘The Shelz’.
Few astonishing and incredible performances were seen during the English play titled ‘The Man Who Would Not Go To Heaven’, while a dance drama in Hindi titled ‘Deep Daan’ was were staged by the students.
The chief guest was unequivocal in her praise and appreciated the hard work and toil put in by the staff and the students. The programme ended with the National Anthem.
