Anything done with heart and soul leaves a colourful affect on all, and one such event is Krishna Janamashtami, also known as Gokulashtami, a Hindu festival that marks the birth of Lord Krishna, an avtar of Lord Vishnu. The festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm in St. Thomas School, DCM Jaipur and St. Thomas School, Girdharipura, as children came in colourful costumes and bright smiles to celebrate the event in the school premises.
One could see excitement and happiness on children’s faces especially the Radhas who were wearing colourful lehengas and their heads were covered with dupattas. The kids were wearing jewellery from head to toe — maang tika to anklets. As they walked around the campus, one could hear the sweet tinkling sound of their jewellery, it was a treat to watch them.
On the other hand little Krishnas were looking equally cute and smart as they were mostly in a pitambari dhoti and kurta with a flute in one hand and a crown or a head band with morpankh adorning it. It was a delight for the the eyes to see these sweet Radhas and Krishnas.
Students of DCM made colourful flutes and matki cutouts as they decorated them with glitter, paper flowers, beads, etc. They sangs songs and danced on songs such as “Madhuban Maen Jo Kanhaiya”, “Woh Kisna Hai”, “Choti Choti Gaiyan, Chote Chote Gwale” among many others. (See All Videos)
