Taking a giant leap toward decentralized governance and rural empowerment, CM Sukhu has announced the establishment of a new Civil Court at Chowari, bringing vital judicial services directly to the people of the Bhatiyat Assembly Constituency.
Addressing a massive public gathering at Chowari Chowgan during his whirlwind one-day tour, the Chief Minister paired the judicial announcement with a major educational boost, confirming the opening of new CBSE-affiliated schools in the area alongside a special ₹10 crore financial package dedicated exclusively to regional road infrastructure.
Putting the spotlight on grassroots welfare, the Chief Minister highlighted the upcoming launch of the ‘Mukhyamantri Ka Apna Parivar Sukhi Parivar Yojana’ next month. Designed as a robust social security net, the scheme will extend ₹1,500 per month, 300 units of free electricity, and cashless medical treatment via health insurance cards to eligible poor families. In Bhatiyat alone, the initiative is set to transform the lives of roughly 20,000 women across 10,000 families.
Shifting focus to the rural economy, Sukhu emphasized that the state government has pioneered a visionary approach to uplift farming communities. By fixing minimum support prices at unprecedented rates—such as ₹150 per kg for raw turmeric, ₹80 per kg for wheat, and ₹50 per kg for maize, alongside doubling milk procurement prices to ₹61 per litre for cow milk and ₹71 for buffalo milk—the government is injecting direct financial vitality into rural households.
On the healthcare and education fronts, the Chief Minister slammed previous administrations for neglect and empty promises. He noted that a massive ₹190 crore has been channeled into Chamba Medical College, bolstered by 32 postgraduate seats to ensure top-tier medical care reaches regional corners. Furthermore, highlighting the state’s educational turnaround—where Himachal climbed from 21st rank in 2021 to 5th nationwide in 2025 for quality education—he detailed how the current administration has rationalized teaching staff, recruited over 2,700 educators on pure merit, and expanded the CBSE curriculum across rural institutions.
Adding his voice to the event, Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania lauded the government’s unwavering commitment to balanced regional development. He noted that Bhatiyat, once considered a backward pocket, has witnessed unprecedented all-around progress under CM Sukhu’s leadership, cementing a new era of prosperity, infrastructure, and robust social security across Chamba district.
