Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla visited Manali today to evaluate the destruction caused by heavy monsoon rains and floods. He inspected the severely damaged stretch of the national highway between Kullu and Manali, expressing serious concern over widespread damage in multiple locations.

During his visit to Solang village, the Governor met with local residents to hear their grievances. He noted the extensive devastation, highlighting that roads and surrounding areas have been badly affected. “At several points, roads are damaged on both sides, requiring immediate repair. The State Government and NHAI must coordinate a joint meeting to develop a lasting solution,” he said.

Governor Shukla also reviewed flood-impacted sites including Bindu Dhank, Manalsu Nallah, Aloo Ground, and Chauribihal. Officials from the Border Roads Organization (BRO) and GREF updated him on ongoing reconstruction and relief efforts.

Addressing the landslide threat in Solang village, the Governor emphasized the urgent need to protect the community. “With agricultural lands washed away, rehabilitating the affected residents is a significant challenge that requires prompt action,” he stated.
