In a major step towards combating drug abuse and trafficking, the Government of India has launched the National Narcotics Helpline MANAS – 1933. This toll-free number aims to provide a quick and confidential platform for reporting drug-related crimes and seeking help for substance abuse.
Citizens can now easily lodge complaints related to drug use and illegal trafficking by dialing 1933. Along with complaint registration, the helpline offers crucial support services including treatment guidance, rehabilitation options, and counseling for individuals struggling with addiction.
In addition to the phone helpline, these services are also available through the MANAS portal, email, and the UMANG app, making it easier for people to access support across multiple platforms. Officials have emphasized that all complaints will be kept strictly confidential, ensuring the privacy and safety of the complainants.
This initiative marks a proactive step in strengthening the nation’s fight against the growing threat of drug abuse, while also ensuring compassionate support for those affected.
