A “Milan Program” was organized in the Raj Bhavan for the citizens of Uttarakhand and Jharkhand states living in Himachal to commemorate the foundation days of these states. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Lady Governor Janaki Shukla were present on the occasion.
The Governor said that the Government of India has started the tradition of celebrating the foundation days of states in Raj Bhavan, which reiterates the concept of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat”. The event’s objective includes connecting people, he added. “We should not forget our values and neither should we turn away from the development.
Only if we carry both, we will be able to preserve our culture,” said Shukla. He added that Uttarakhand is also called Devbhoomi and the sanctity of the religious places there should be maintained. He said that some places should not become picnic spots, as it is not good for our culture.
The Governor also honoured all the guests by presenting a Himachali cap and shawl. On the occasion, DGP Atul Verma, who belongs to Jharkhand, shared his experiences. Additional Chief Secretary K.K. Pant was also present on the occasion and expressed his views on the rich culture of Uttarakhand. Governor’s Secretary C.P. Verma and other prominent people were also present on the occasion.
