A commitment to provide the literary lovers the pleasure of listening to stories directly from the writers, a multilingual short story session was chaired by Ramkumar Mukhopadhyay while the readings were done by Bina Thakur (Maithili); Gangaram Raji (Pahari-Mandyali); Iti Samanta (Odia); Jaiwanti Dimri (Hindi); M Narendra (Telugu); Vidyanidhi Chhabra (Hindi). The sharing aspect is stemmed in gregariousness and tales provided not only entertainment but also served as a tool to trigger creativity among the listeners. Storytelling is essentially oral in nature but over a period of time, especially after the industrial revolution and publishing process, they have mostly become written or typed down. Today’s session mere reiterated that author story readings are as important as writing and simple reading by self.
Each writer shared a gem of story – meaningful, captivating, thematic, with an intriguing plot, a message or an open ended question, for the listerner to decide what next?
