School of Basic and Applied Sciences, IEC University Baddi H.P. in association with Indian Science Congres Association, Shimla Chapter organized a national webinar on “Integrated Approach in Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future” on 28 February 2022 (Celebration of National Science Day) to commemorate the discovery of Raman effect by Sir C. V. Raman, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Prof. Shamim Ahmed, Honorable Vice-Chancellor, IEC University was the chief guest of the webinar. Prof. (Mrs.) Neeraj Sharma, Convener ISCA Shimla Chapter guest of honour welcomed all and apprised about the scientific activities of Indian Science Congress Association Shimla Chapter and objectives of celebrating NSD.
Prof. Arvind Kumar Bhatt, Treasurer ISCA Shimla Chapter also talked about ISCA Shimla Chapter. The welcome address given by Dr. Ashish Kumar Sharma, Dean Post-Graduate Studies, IEC University. The Key Note speaker was Dr. Arvind K. Gathania, Associate Professor, Department of Physics & Photonic Sciences, NIT Hamirpur (HP)delivered a talk on“Computing: Past, Present and Future”. Invited talk was delivered by Dr. Meena Kumari, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, HP University Shimla on “Chemistry and sustainable development”. Dr. Vineet Kumar Choudhary, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, IEC University and Ms. Suneha, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, IEC University was organizing secretary of webinar.
The coordinators of webinar was Dr. Ashish Kumar Sharma, Dean Post-Graduate Studies IEC University and Dr. Manish Taunk, Associate Professor & Head Department of Physics, IEC University. The vote of thanks given by Dr. Anita Rani, Assistant Professor& Head, Department of Chemistry, IEC University. More than 100 participants from various institutions attended the webinar and gave their valuable feedback. The motive of this webinar was to celebrate National Science Day and discuss the aspects and current trends of research in science and to provide a great platform so that students can gain invaluable knowledge and experience.
