Vaccination sessions to be booked online only

A spokesperson of the Health Department said here today that as per the latest communication received from Government of India, features for on-site registration and appointment are also being enabled for 18-44 years age group on COWIN. However, at present this feature will be enabled only for the Government Covid Vaccination Centers. This feature will not be available for private Covid Vaccination Centers and they will have to publish their vaccination schedules exclusively with slots for online appointments.

He said that the Government of India has also conveyed that abundant caution should be exercised and extreme due care should be taken while opening up of on-site registration and appointment for 18-44 years of age group in order to avoid overcrowding at vaccination sites. The Government of India has left it to the State Governments and Union Territories to decide the opening up of the on-site registration based on the local context.

He said that the next vaccination for the 18-44 years category in the State of Himachal Pradesh is due on 27th May, 2021 for which the slots will be opened on 25th May, 2021 from 2.30 pm to 3.00 pm. It is clarified that keeping in view the potential for overcrowding at the vaccination sites during this Corona Curfew in the State, the sessions shall be published online as per previous practice only and all the persons between 18-44 years of age should book their appointments online for vaccination on 27th May, 2021. The appropriate decision regarding on-site registration and facilitated cohort registration will be taken shortly based on the local context of the tribal, rural and urban areas in the State of Himachal Pradesh and will be conveyed accordingly.

He said that for the sessions scheduled on 27th May, 2021, the online booking shall be available from 25th May, 2021 2:30 PM onwards and all persons of 18-44 years age group desirous of getting vaccination should book their sessions online only through COWIN/Arogya Setu Application, to avoid any inconvenience.
