Every act leads to a habit, every habit directs behaviour, behaviour forms character, character make personality, and finally personality give success and joy to life !!!
Students of Chalet Public School gave mesmerizing and zealous dance performances during their Annual Function 2014, held here today in the school premises on Mall, as Retired District Head and Session Judge, B S Chauhan presided over the function as the chief guest. Principal, V Rathore warmly welcomed the chief guest and the parents present to see their kids perform. She said, promoting cultural activities along with academic education was an important part of this school. Pastor D Rogers was also present during the occasion to encourage and cheer the kids. The function began with the lighting of the lamp followed by Vandana dance by the students.
What followed next was a splendid showcase of talent, dance and celebrations. Students of Nursery Class confidently stepped onto the stage for the first time as they all cutely performed on the song ‘Icchak Dana Michak Dana’, winning a huge round of applause from all the parents and guests present. Girls of Class VI gave a beautiful dance performance in the Indian classical dance form — Kathak.
A very sweet and touching poem titled ‘The Silent Scream by Amrita Barbara Giani’ was recited by Madam Anjali, touching everyone’s emotional cords that despite being educated and learned people still express remorse and sadness over the fact that they are being blessed with a beautiful daughter. The stigma that sons are important is still very much prevalent in our society. “For all those who destroy a life without any qualms of conscience, for those who have no right whatsoever to bring a life into this world if their purpose is merely to eliminate it”.
Students of senior section performed the popular folk dance of Assam — Behu Dance, thus celebrating the harvest festival of the state. A message was given to the audience through the Hindi play, wherein Ranuak Lal, the protagonist is lonely after his wife dies and kids leave him for good and how he reconsiders about getting married again. The liveliness and rhythm was bought back with the Himachali Natti, Punjabi Bhangra and foot tapping dance on the song ‘Jai Ho’. Each and every item was performed passionately and with great fervor as the audience clapped through each and every act.
Chief Guest B S Chauhan spoke few inspiring words and enlightened all about the legal rights of both children and women. He congratulated all the students on putting up such an amazing show and also lauded the efforts of the school management and all the faculty members for making this day a success. Principal Rathore especially thanked her faculty members — Mr Balbir and Sucheta for Natti dance, Mrs Veena for the Hindi Play and Manju Sood for all the decoration, and support staff for the brilliant work done.
