Photo Feature: Young Artists at Work during Summer Fest Art Competition

An art bonanza was witnessed at Daulat Singh Park, Ridge as Sub Junior and Junior category students from 20 plus schools, both private and government, participated in the Painting Competition that will be held from 1 June to 3 June by the Shimla District Administration as part of the annual International Shimla Summer Festival here today. In the sub junior category 151 students from class 1 to 5 participated, while in the Junior category 184 children participated. Overseeing the event were D N Azaad, Science Consultant, from the Education Department and DLO Anil Harta.

The results will be announced during the Summer Festival dates 4-7 June, and winners will be awarded a cash prize. The jury comprises professors from art colleges and well know artist Him Chatterjee.

Participating school were St Edwards; DAV New Shimla; Loreto Convent Tara Hall; St Thomas’s; Jesus & Mary School; Auckland House for Boys; Auckland House Girls School; GSSS Portmore; HSSS Phagli; GSSS Sanjauli; GSSS Tutikandi; GSSS Lalpani; Laureate Public School; DAV Lakker Bazaar; Dayanand Azad; Sacred Heart School; GSSS Bhanot; GSSS Tutu; DAV Tutu; GSSS Dhalli, GSSS Khalini.
