Town and Country Planning, Housing, and Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani chaired the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Himachal Pradesh Housing and Urban Development Authority (HIMUDA). He emphasized the importance of adopting innovative efforts to achieve sustainable and inclusive urban development.
The Minister stressed the need for geo-tagging the assets of HIMUDA and directed the Authority to prioritize the needs of users in their construction work based on their feedback.
The BoD focused on exploring innovative approaches for the construction of industrial and commercial buildings, warehouses and other facilities in designated areas.
The Minister instructed the officials to set clear targets and ensure timely project completion. Apart from this the Mountain City project in Jathia Devi, aimed at reducing Shimla’s congestion, was reviewed during the meeting.
Dharmani also directed the HIMUDA officials to work with commitment to ensure the timely completion of this ambitious project, called for the swift preparation of a master plan. He said that the project aims to enhance economic activities and employment opportunities in the region while developing a modern city equipped with basic infrastructure and earthquake-resistant technology.
Vice-Chairman HIMUDA Yashwant Chhajta, Principal Secretary (Housing) Devesh Kumar, Chief Executive officer and Secretary HIMUDA Sandeep Kumar, senior officials of Jal Shakti, Public Work Department along with non-government members were present among others.
