The State Government has introduced major changes in the Rajiv Gandhi Swarozgar Startup Yojana (RGSSY) 2023 to encourage self-employment and extend the benefits of the scheme to a larger number of young entrepreneurs.

A spokesperson of the Employment and Overseas Placement Department informed that the maximum age limit for beneficiaries under the scheme has been increased from 45 years to 50 years, while the minimum age requirement remains 23 years.

Under RGSSY, the State Government provides a 50 per cent subsidy for the purchase of e-taxis, helping eligible individuals create new self-employment opportunities.

The deadline for submitting applications has been fixed as 23 July 2026. Interested and eligible applicants can apply online through the official portal. Applicants who had already submitted their applications between 2 June 2026 and 16 June 2026 do not need to apply again.

The department has urged all eligible applicants to make use of this opportunity and submit their applications within the stipulated deadline to avail the benefits of the scheme.
