Governor Kavinder Gupta has advocated for preserving, promoting, and modernizing Sanskrit to ensure it thrives as a living language and a core pillar of India’s cultural and intellectual heritage. Speaking at the grand finale of Sanskrit Mass-2026, organized by the Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust in Jammu, he underscored that aligning India’s civilisational wisdom with modern innovation will be key to achieving the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’.
The Governor pointed out that Sanskrit should not be dismissed as a relic of the past, but rather embraced as a sophisticated knowledge system with strong contemporary applications across technology, academic research, and global discourse. Historically acting as an intellectual bridge connecting diverse regional cultures—from northern Vedic traditions to southern classical scholarship—the language stands as a enduring symbol of the spirit of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.
Highlighting the framework of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, he called upon universities, researchers, and cultural institutions to actively transition this ancient repository into the digital era. He also lauded the Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust for its grassroots initiatives, commending its success in bringing Sanskrit out of exclusive scholarly circles and directly into public engagement.
