Sukhu participated in the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ programme held in the remote village of Baga Sarahan in the Anni area on Tuesday evening. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister emphasized that the initiative is aimed at bringing governance closer to rural citizens, allowing them to resolve issues without traveling long distances—thus saving both time and resources.

CM Sukhu announced that such programmes will now be conducted across the remotest regions of Himachal Pradesh, with each minister leading similar events in their respective constituencies. “The core objective is to ensure direct access to governance and accelerate the pace of rural development,” he said.

Sharing his commitment, the Chief Minister highlighted his decision to stay overnight in remote villages to better understand local challenges. Earlier editions of the programme were held in Dodra Kwar, Kupvi, and Sharchi, where meaningful interactions with residents have guided responsive governance.

Urging the youth to tap into government-backed self-employment schemes, CM Sukhu also cautioned against drug abuse and encouraged healthy, productive lifestyles.

The event featured cultural performances by artists from the Information and Public Relations Department, aiming to spread awareness about government schemes. Women’s groups from Baga Sarahan and Sarahan honored the Chief Minister and showcased local culture through traditional performances.

CM Sukhu also offered prayers at the local deity temple, seeking peace and prosperity for the people of Himachal Pradesh.

The event witnessed participation from dignitaries including MLAs Sunder Singh Thakur and Bhuvneshwar Gaur, Mayor Surinder Chauhan, APMC Chairman Ram Singh Mian, Zila Parishad Chairman Pankaj Parmar, local leaders, and a large number of villagers.
