Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, is rejoicing in the success of its boys in the ISC Class XII board examinations. The batch achieved a remarkable 100% pass rate, with an impressive average score of 83%.
Not only did the boys excel academically, but they also proved to be the school’s most successful sporting year group in recent times, clinching three major tournament wins.
ISC topper Manan Rawat secured an outstanding score of 92.8%. Apart from his academic achievements, Manan showcased his all-rounded skills by summiting the 20,000ft peak of Mentok Dengri as part of the school mountaineering team and winning the prestigious Goldstein cricket tournament. He aims to attend the NDA.
Another standout student, Yatish Bansal, scored 88%. Yatish, who was a hugely popular School Captain, demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities throughout the year.
The Class X batch, comprising 71 boys, also achieved a commendable 100% pass rate with an average score of 80%. This batch was unique as every boy was compelled to study all three sciences, which is unusual for a boarding school.
The top scorers in the Class X batch were Devansh Singla (96.6%) and Aarav Wadaskar (96%). Aarav has won a place on the prestigious Harvard University summer program and will be spending a month in the USA this summer.
Simon Weale, Director of BCS, congratulated all the boys on their achievements. He said, “Our Class XII boys will now go off to universities around the world where the resilience and drive of Cottonians will take them from success to success.
Our Class Xs are one of the year groups most affected by the pandemic so we are thrilled to see them emerging as a strong batch who will thrive in the next stage of their education. Our Class XI this year will be the largest since the turn of the century.”
