Shimla Limits Firecracker Sales to Specific Zones

To ensure public safety during the upcoming Diwali festival, the District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner of Shimla has issued orders restricting the sale of firecrackers and fireworks to pre-designated locations only within Shimla city and surrounding areas. The sale will be completely prohibited in all other areas from October 16 to October 21, 2025.

The designated spots for firecracker sales include:

  • Ice Skating Rink, Shimla

  • Baluganj Playground (opposite Gopal Mandir)

  • Open area beyond PWD Parking towards Chhota Shimla and Sanjauli

  • Near Trilok Chand Shop, Khalini Bypass

  • HPU Ground, Summerhill

  • Open area on the road from Chhota Shimla to Kasumpti

  • Ground near Govt. Sr. Secondary School, Fagli

  • Panchayat Ground, Bhatta Kufar

  • Sector-6 Bus Stand, Kanganadhar, New Shimla

  • Near Police Post, Vikas Nagar

  • New Parking, Tutu

  • Rani Ground, Kasumpti

Authorities have directed that vehicles must be removed from these sale sites to avoid any mishaps. The Municipal Corporation Shimla and PWD will oversee stall setups, while the Fire Department will ensure fire safety systems are in place at all locations.
