A grand celebration of classical, semi-classical, light music, ghazals and folk traditions will be held during the Shimla Him Sangeet Festival–2026, scheduled from March 10 to March 14, 2026, at the Gothic Auditorium of Gaiety Theatre on the Mall in Shimla.
The five-day festival is being organized by the North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Patiala, in collaboration with the Department of Language, Art and Culture, Himachal Pradesh, and the Gaiety Dramatic Society, Shimla.
Sharing details about the event, Rima Kashyap, Director of the Department of Language, Art and Culture, Himachal Pradesh, said the department remains committed to preserving and promoting the rich folk and musical heritage of the northern region as well as the country. She added that under the guidance of Rakesh Kanwar (IAS), Secretary of the Department, the festival will showcase a vibrant mix of classical and contemporary musical performances.
According to the schedule, the festival will feature the following performances:

March 10: Kathak dance by Nitin & Group and classical vocal recital by Gunjan Channa

March 11: Classical and light music by Deepak Mehta, light and folk music by Charu Sharma, and folk songs by Dharmapal Thakur

March 12: Sufi Kalam presentation by Malik Ali & Group

March 13: Qawwali performance by the Nizami Brothers

March 14: Flute recital by Gulzar Hussain and dance performance by Santosh Nair & Group
The Director of the North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala, will also be present during the inaugural session. Each evening of the festival will be graced by prominent state dignitaries, highlighting the collective effort to support and preserve Himachal Pradesh’s cultural legacy through the initiatives of NZCC.
The festival is expected to bring together renowned artists and music lovers, offering audiences an enriching cultural experience in the heart of Shimla.
