Shiv Pratap Shukla Highlights India’s Cultural Harmony at Milan Programme

Highlighting India’s profound cultural heritage rooted in harmony, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla urged greater emphasis on fostering inclusiveness to strengthen national unity. He was addressing the ‘Milan Programme’ organized to commemorate the Statehood Days of Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura at the Raj Bhavan, today. He emphasized that harmony was a cornerstone of constitution and societal ethos of India. Shukla said that “India’s strength lies in its unity in diversity” and promoting mutual understanding of culture and tradition and deepens the bonds of integration among states.

Such efforts, would also further the vision of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” and reinforces the unity and integrity of the Nation. On this occasion, the Governor also extended warm greetings to the people of Himachal Pradesh on its Statehood Day and to the Nation on Republic Day. He further added that nothing was greater than ‘Rashtra Dharma, it encourages citizens to celebrate these significant days with pride and enthusiasm. Shukla reflected on India’s tradition of fostering knowledge through debates and discussions, underscoring the importance of mutual respect in such exchanges. “Our traditions thrive on mutual understanding and respect, free from arrogance.

Programmes like these were instrumental in enhancing cultural awareness and integration,” he added. He urged citizens to uphold their dignity and focus on excellence, which forms the basis of a successful life. Drawing from India’s rich traditions, Shukla said, “Lord Rama organized people from marginalized communities to build an army and defeated those who solely believed in ruling. Similarly, India continues to follow its traditions while respecting one another’s environments.” On the occasion, the Governor honored citizens from these states residing in Himachal Pradesh. Director General of Police (Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau) Ashok Tiwari, Director of the Central Potato Research Institute Dr. Brajesh Singh and IPS officer Aditi Singh also shared their experiences. Secretary to the Governor, C.P. Verma was also present on the occasion.
