Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN informed that SJVN, through its wholly owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL) has signed a Power Usage Agreement (PUA) with Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL). Nand Lal Sharma stated that the PUA has been signed for 200 MW Solar Power capacity to be supplied to UPCL from the under construction 1000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project (BSPP).
This solar project is being developed by SJVN through SGEL in the state of Rajasthan under CPSU Scheme of IREDA. The development cost of the project is Rs 5491 crores. The project is being developed under the Domestic Content Requirement mode and is scheduled to be commissioned by April 2024. The power generated from the project will be used by government entities, either directly or through DISCOMS. This development will contribute towards meeting solar RPO targets and addressing the power deficit.
1000 MW Bikaner Solar Project
The Power Usage Agreement was signed by Ajay Kumar Singh, CEO, SGEL and SE, UPCL at Dehradun. Earlier, in a major achievement, Hon’ble President of India Droupadi Murmu has laid the foundation stone of 1000 MW Bikaner SPP on 3rd January 2023. The project is expected to generate 2455 million units in the first year and about 56838 million units cumulatively over a period of 25 years, while reducing carbon emissions by 27,85,077 tonnes.
