As part of the nationwide #Plant4Mother campaign (#एक_पेड़_मां_के_नाम), SJVN today conducted a large-scale plantation drive near Surala Village on Chamiyana Road, Shimla. This green initiative, led under the guidance of CMD Bhupender Gupta, marks a significant step in the organization’s commitment to environmental conservation.

The plantation drive was formally inaugurated by Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel), and Sipan Kumar Garg, Director (Finance), who planted saplings of native species including Oak, Rhododendron, and Apricot.

Speaking on the occasion, Ajay Kumar Sharma shared that SJVN has set a target to plant 4,500 saplings by December 2025, as part of its long-term sustainability goals. Today’s event alone saw the planting of 300 saplings, contributing meaningfully to this mission.

Director (Finance) Sipan Kumar Garg emphasized the importance of employee involvement in environmental initiatives and encouraged sustained participation to expand India’s green cover.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from various Heads of Departments, senior officials, and employees of SJVN Corporate Headquarters, Shimla.

The #Plant4Mother campaign, launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, is a nationwide initiative aimed at addressing ecological concerns and spreading awareness about environmental responsibility by dedicating a tree to one’s mother.
