The Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, is preparing to execute ‘Special Campaign 6.0’ from October 2 to October 31, 2026. Organized annually since 2021, this nation-wide initiative aims to institutionalize office cleanliness (Swachhata), expedite the disposal of pending matters, improve record management, and ensure the optimal utilization of office space through responsible e-waste disposal.
Special Campaign 6.0 will place a primary focus on the “Effective collection, segregation, and disposal of e-waste.” The campaign is structured in two distinct phases—a Preparatory Phase (September 15–30, 2026) followed by the Implementation Phase running throughout October. During the preparatory phase, the department identified pending references from the PMO, MPs, State Governments, and parliamentary assurances, while establishing targets for e-waste disposal in line with Ministry of Environment guidelines.
The department has already made notable progress in administrative digitisation and waste management. In December 2025, an auction of e-waste from Shastri Bhawan generated ₹2,35,100 in revenue, and the digitisation of physical files was completed in January 2026. Along with its subordinate bodies and field offices, the department is fully set to execute the campaign across all institutional levels.
