The spirited and energetic performances by children, despite a slow start in the afternoon and a rainy morning, was enough to lift their morale to win the race and eye for the Skating Gold Cup. The two day All India Open Martial Arts & Skating Gold Cup is being organized by HS Sports Academy, Punjab from 20th-21st August 2016 at Auckland House Girls School, Shimla, which was officially flagged off by Auckland Boys School Principal Micheal A John. President of the Academy Sukhbir Singh, accompanied by the Vice President Gurjot Singh, Organizing Secretary Pankaj Prabhakar, Joint Secretary Nitin Saini, and team coaches Pawan Aggarwal, Ravi Verma, Sahil were present to warmly greet the Principal who wished all the participants very best to play fair and win medals.
Teams from various states namely, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Shimla, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Uttar Pradesh are participating in this event and the winners get an opportunity to participate in the next competition that will be held in Thailand. From Ambala, Coach Sahil Sharma was guiding his team comprising of Nitin, Shagun, Lavneesh, Gurjot, Manveer, Arman, Navneet, and Rajveer among others to set an example by winning races in various categories. Coaches Avinsh and Ravi from UP have 13 participants in their team, namely, Samiksha, Prayag, Gunjan, Ritika, Yash, Faiz, and Rudraksh. Coach Manjunath from Bangalore was heading a team of 13 participants, Rohan, Aditya, Tanish, Abhaymohan, Arshit, Saanvi, Somved, and Ananya to name a few. The largest contingent was from the host school, Auckland House Girls & Boys School, who under the able-guidance of their Coach Pankaj Prabhakar took on the event with full confidence — his team comprising of Aniket, Angel, Jasra Singh, Sherin, Shashwat, Abhishek, Ashish, Lekisha, Ayush, Samarth, Aarzoo, Pritha, Suhani, Jiya, Prachi, Chirag, Tanmay among others. From Haryana Kunzum, Puli, Karanvir Singh, Deshebh were present to show their mettle.
Events were held for both boys and girls in different age groups for quad, inline and in adjustable categories.
The results will be declared tomorrow with the conclusion of the event and prize ceremony.
