State Government Committed to Improve Living Conditions of Slum Dwellers

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that State Government is committed to provide shelter to homeless and improve the living conditions of slum dwellers. He was addressing a delegation of slum dwellers led by Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj here today. Chief Minister said that, in order to provide propriety right on the land in occupation of slum dwellers, the State Government recently passed the Himachal Pradesh Slum Dwellers (Propriety Rights) Act, 2022 so that slum dwellers could live with dignity and respect.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government was ensuring that policies and programmes initiated for upliftment of the poor and down trodden reaches to the persons living at the lowest ebb. He urged the people of the State to take benefits of the schemes started for their welfare. Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj thanked the Chief Minister for taking this historic step to provide succour to slum dwellers.
