Strengthen the home Isolation network of Covid-19 patients: Chief Minister

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, while presiding over a meeting to review Covid-19 situation in the State with the Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police and Chief Medical Officers virtually from Shimla today, directed the officers to strengthen the home isolation network of Covid-19 patients and provide immediate medical aid to the patients under treatment in their homes, if they required. He said that there were total 3076 active cases in the State and sharp increase has been reported during last one week. He said that at present 98 percent patients were under home isolation.

Jai Ram Thakur directed the officers to prepare ‘Home Isolation Kits’ so that same could be provided to Covid-19 patients under treatment at homes and to sensitize them regarding do’s and don’ts during their isolation and take medicines as per prescription of doctors. He said that this kit would have Chawanprash, ayush kada, hand sanitizer, face masks etc. He said that proper arrangements should be made for isolation of Covid-19 patients in their homes so that other family members do not get infected from Corona virus. Chief Minister stressed the need for better coordination between Allopathy and Ayush departments so that Covid-19 patients could be provided treatment in time.

He said that the State Government had been taking effective steps to check spread of this virus and directed the authorities to increase the testing. He said that vaccination campaign of 15 to 18 years of age would be completed by 12 January. Jai Ram Thakur said that proper arrangements of transportation of Covid-19 patients must be made in case condition of patients under home isolation deteriorates. Chief Minister also directed the Deputy Commissioners to ensure proper restoration of roads, power supply and drinking water supply particularly in snow bound areas. He said that special thrust must be laid on restoration of all major roads and roads leading to health institutions.

He said it must also be ensured that power supply particularly in health institutions be maintained at the earliest. He said that drinking water supplies also be restored at once to facilitate the people. Health Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal said that the health officials and other concerned must fully utilize their experiences they have while successfully tackling earlier two waves of Corona virus. Chief Secretary Ram Subhag Singh conducted the proceedings of the meeting. Additional Chief Secretary J.C. Sharma, Secretary, GAD Bharat Khera, Mission Director, NHM Hemraj Bairwa, Director Ayush Vinay Singh, Director Health Dr. Anita Mahajan and other senior officers attended the meeting.
