Students of Aanchal Public School, Dudhli celebrated the lively festival of Janmashtami here today as the program was inaugurated by lightning of diya by School Principal Veena Verma. The event began with the staging of the story of birth of God Krishna by the Nidhi Dance group. Then the little kids of Nursery presented Krishan Leela by dancing on the song Japu Mein Mala Ji.
Soon the tiny tots of Kindergarten danced to the tunes of Kanha Raas Rachaave. Holding flutes in their hands students of Class 2 danced on the song Shyam Bansi Bajaave. While the students of Class 8beautifully choreographed the song from the movie Lagaan, Madhuban Mein Jo Kanhaiya.
After the cute and adorable performances by the girls, soon the boys followed with the famous Janamashtami tradition of breaking the ‘Dahi Haandi’. At the end of the event the principal of the school said a few words about the festival. She said, “the verses in the Bhagavad-Gita say, ‘whenever there will be predominance of evil and decline of religion, I will reincarnate to kill the evil and to save the good’. The main significance of the Janamashtami festival is to encourage goodwill and to discourage bad will. Krishna Jayanti also celebrates togetherness. The holy occasion brings people together, thus it signifies unity and faith”.
The day ended with distributions of sweets and lots of song and dance celebrations by the kids !!!
