In a bid to promote cleanliness and contribute to the nationwide Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, St. Thomas’ School Shimla actively participated in the Swachhta Pakhwada campaign organized by CBSE. The campaign, which took place from September 15, 2023, to October 1, 2023, saw enthusiastic participation from students, staff, and the community.

During this fortnight-long campaign, the school organized a series of activities aimed at raising awareness about cleanliness and hygiene practices. Students of the Yuvatourism Club and NCC Cadets, along with the school’s principal, Vidhupriya Chakravatry, and dedicated staff members, came together to make a significant impact.

Swachhta Pledge: On October 1, 2023, a solemn Swachhta Pledge was taken by all participants, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings.
Poster Making and Slogan Writing: Creative minds were at work as students crafted informative posters and catchy slogans to highlight the importance of cleanliness.
Cleanliness and Hygiene Practices: Practical lessons on cleanliness and hygiene were imparted to instill good habits among the students.
Rally for Cleanliness: A spirited rally was organized, led by students and school staff members, including Mr. Salig Kumar, Mr. Tarun Sharma, and Mr. Purshotam Singh. The rally aimed to spread awareness about the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in the local community.
