Children love to play and what can be the best day for them than a Sports Day where playing and having a good time is the only thing that matters. Little students of Auckland House School for Boys, Shimla celebrated their Annual Junior Sports Day in the school ground. The day stared by welcoming of the Chief Guest Niraj Chandla, Sub Divisional Magistrate (Urban) Shimla by presenting flower. Students exhibited their ability and suppleness through a magnificent performance displayed in gymnastics and Yoga.
Lessons learnt while playing are the ones that don’t fade away easily and hence the little ones taught everyone the lesson of following the rule of traffic lights via a PT Display (Traffic Lights). Energetic and dynamic, the students then performed various events which included drills, bracelet race, roller skating, Yoga and taekwondo. Different drill forms, roller skating, fun games, musical display using rods, and other sporting events were presented by the students of form Nursery to Form 2. Races for parents were also held in which they participated enthusiastically.
Speaking on the occasion Niraj said that it was a great honour to be part of the event. She encouraged the students to participate in games as winning was not everything but it was participation that mattered the most. She also appreciated the responsible PT Display on Traffic Lights, as it will inculcate good values in children. She also requested parents and school authorities to keep an eye on notorious and suspicious activities around schools and report the same to administration.
The Chief Guest appreciated the performances, hard work and dedication put up by the students. Multiple hours of training, strenuous practices of students made the Sports Day more successful and memorable one. The atmosphere of the school took a festive look. A great interest was shown by the students, teachers and parents alike.
Sunita John, Director Principal, Auckland House School and other distinguished dignitaries graced the event. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Michael A. John, Principal Auckland House School for Boys, Shimla. The grand celebration came to an end with the National Anthem.
