World International Justice Day is observed every year on 17 July to promote the importance of justice, human rights, and accountability around the world. The day commemorates the adoption of the Rome Statute on 17 July 1998, which led to the establishment of the International Criminal Court (ICC). It aims to raise awareness about the need to prevent and punish serious international crimes such as genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and aggression. The day also highlights global efforts to ensure that victims of injustice receive justice and that individuals responsible for major human rights violations are held accountable.
