Following are some of the major events to have occurred on April 29.

1236 – दिल्ली सल्तनत में गुलाम वंश के एक प्रमुख शासक इल्तुतमिश का निधन हुआ।

1639 – दिल्ली में लाल किले की नींव रखी गयी।

1706 – सम्राट जोज़ेफ़ आई को कोलोन और बवेरिया का राजा बनाया गया।

1784 – बी फ्लैट, (वियना) में मोजार्ट के सोनाटा का प्रीमियर हुआ।

1805 – रुचर जेन स्चिमेल्पेनिनक को नेपोलियन द्वारा बैटवियन गणराज्य के ग्रांड पेंशनरी के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया।

1817 – रश-बैगोट संधि पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए।

1848 – सुप्रसिद्ध चित्रकार राजा रवि वर्मा का जन्म।

1882 – दुनिया का पहला ट्रॉलीबस ऑपरेशन बर्लिन में शुरू किया गया।

1903 – कनाडा के उत्तर-पश्चिम प्रदेश में हुए भूस्खलन से 70 लोगों की मौत।

1939 – नेताजी सुभाषचंद्र बोस ने कांग्रेस से इस्तीफा दिया।

1965 – पाकिस्तान के अंतरिक्ष और ऊपरी वायुमंडल अनुसंधान आयोग ने अपने सातवें रॉकेट का सफल प्रक्षेपण किया
1991 – बंगलादेश के चटगांव मे आए एक चक्रवाती तूफान में एक लाख 38 हजार लोग मारे गए और दस लाख लोग बेघर हो गए।

1993 – पहली बार बकिंघम पैलेस को आम जनता के लिए खोला गया और इसे देखने के लिए आठ पाउंड का टिकट लगा।

1997 – रासायनिक हथियारों पर प्रतिबंध लागू।

2006 – पाकिस्तान ने हत्फ़-6 मिसाइल का परीक्षण किया।

2010 – भारतीय इंजीनियर हरपाल कुमार ने लंदन में आँत के कैंसर के शिकार लोगों का ब्लड टेस्ट कर रोग का पता लगाने के बजाय उनके पेट का निरीक्षण कर सकने वाले कैमरे का आविष्कार किया।

2011 – ब्रिटिश राजकुमार प्रिंस विलियम और केट मिडलटन का विवाह हुआ।

1945 – The terms of surrender of the German armies in Italy were signed; Venice and Mestre were captured by the Allies; in Berlin, Adolf Hitler married Eva Braun, but also made his will naming Admiral Karl Doenitz as his successor. American forces liberated the Dachau concentration camp in southern Germany.

1972 – In Burundi, the deposed King Ntare V was killed in an abortive coup.

1980 – Sir Alfred Hitchcock, the British-born film director best known for his suspense thrillers, notably “Psycho”, died.

2000 – Pham Van Dong, who served as prime minister in Hanoi for more than three decades until 1987, died. An intellectual, Dong was considered close to Vietnam’s late revolutionary leader Ho Chi Minh.

2002 – Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi was greeted by East Timorese schoolchildren as he became the first head of state to visit the new state.

2003 – The United States said it was ending military operations in Saudi Arabia and removing virtually all its forces from the kingdom following the Iraq war.

2005 – Taiwanese opposition leader Lien Chan met Chinese President Hu Jintao in Beijing and closed the book on decades of hostility between China’s Communist Party and its civil war foe, the Kuomintang.

2006 – Presidents of Bolivia, Cuba and Venezuela sign “People’s Trade Treaty” to counter free-trade deals Washington seeks with Latin American nations.

2006 – John Kenneth Galbraith, U.S. economist, best-selling author and former presidential advisor, died aged 97.

2007 – As many as 1 million secularist protesters rallied in Istanbul, accusing the Turkish government and the ruling AK Party of planning to create an Islamist state and demanding it withdraw its presidential candidate ($1=.5063 Pound).

2013 – Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe holds talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in first Russo-Japanese summit in a decade.
