An online training session on the ‘Krishi Mapper’ application—a digital platform developed by the Government of India for geo-tagging and geo-fencing of agricultural and horticultural assets—was conducted today under the chairmanship of Director Horticulture Vinay Singh.
A spokesperson from the Horticulture Department stated that Krishi Mapper enables real-time monitoring of field activities, helps assess progress, prevents duplication of beneficiaries, and supports the creation of a centralized digital database. The platform is accessible via a mobile app and web portal, with upcoming features allowing offline data capture.
The workshop emphasized the mandatory use of geo-tagging and geo-fencing across all components of the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH). Field officers were instructed to ensure timely data uploads, create user IDs at all levels, and complete necessary training. It was also directed that no subsidy be released without verification through geo-tagging.
Key features of Krishi Mapper include real-time supervision, transparency, and integration with the MIDH Suraksha portal in future updates. Field-level staff will receive further training to ensure seamless implementation of the application.
