Tree Plantation Drive by Shimla Nursing College, Shurala

On August 6, 2024, nursing students of Shimla Nursing College, Shurala, Chamyana near Bhattakufar Shimla organized a tree plantation drive around Shurala village. The plantation program was inaugurated by Principal (Dr.) Krishna Chauhan by planting a deodar sapling first, in which 100 saplings including deodar were planted, which included 30 deodar, 30 hydrangeas, 30 saroo and other species of plants.

Mohit Sood, Managing Director, Shimla Nursing College, Shurala, Dr. Kimi Sood, Secretary, Shimla Nursing College and Honorary Secretary Himachal Pradesh State Red Cross, (Dr.) Krishna Chauhan, Principal, Shimla Nursing College, Shurala and college staff members also participated in this tree plantation program along with students. On this occasion, all the students pledged to plant as many trees as possible to prevent land exploitation and also to ensure proper care of these trees till the completion of their nursing course (B.Sc Nursing, GNM, Post Basic Nursing & M.Sc Nursing) in this college. This tree plantation was organized under the “One Student One Tree” program sponsored by UGC and Atal Medical and Research University, Nerchowk Mandi HP.

Shimla Nursing College, Shurala has guaranteed job placement facility for pass-out students in big hospitals of the country like Sir Ganga Ram- Delhi, City Ganga Ram- Delhi, BLK- Delhi, Columbia Asia- Delhi, Max Hospital- Delhi and Dehradun and Columbia Asia- Delhi. This college has been working in the field of nursing education for the last 15 years (since 2009 onwards).
