A spokesperson of the State Government said here today that in order to smoothly implement all the works related to the construction and establishment of the proposed Himachal Medical Devices Park at Nalagarh, district Solan the State Government has constituted two committees under the ambit of HP State Industrial Development Corporation (HPSIDC). He said that the high level committee was constituted under the chairmanship of Administrative Secretary (Industries). Administrative secretary (Jal Shakti) to the govt. of H.P and Administrative Secretary (Power) to the Govt. of HP as its members and Director of Industries has been appointed as its member secretary.
The spokesperson said that other members includes Director, Department of Environment, Science and Technology, Managing Director of HPSIDC, Representative of the Pharmaceutical Department of the Central Government, Director of National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Representative of Center for Innovation and Bio-Design (CIBOD), PGIMER. Apart from these, Co-opted members decided by the committee could also be included. The spokesman further said that this high level committee would be the highest decision-making body on any aspect of the project. It would take policy and strategic decision in consonance with the DPR approved by the Govt. of India and would be responsible for approving annual budget of the Medical Devices Park (MDP). The committee would act as a link between the SIA and state government for any budget and funding related issues.
He further said that apart from this high level committee, an executive committee has also been constituted under the chairmanship of the Director of the Industries Department. Additional Director would be its convener. The Managing Director of HPSIDC, representative of Central Drug Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) Baddi, Superintending Engineer of Electricity Board Circle Solan, Superintending Engineer of Circle Solan of Jal Shakti Vibhag, Professionals from the field of Medical Devices and two members nominated from the Central Government would be its members. He said that the Co-opted members would be decided by the committee itself. The spokesman said that the executive committee would work to ensure the successful implementation of the project and would review the progress of implementation and further running of the project quarterly.
