Umang Foundation Celebrates Earth Day

Umang Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities, is organizing an event to celebrate Earth Day on Saturday at Potter’s Hill in Shimla. The event’s chief guest is Dr. Vinit Justoo, a renowned environmental expert and scientist from the Himalayan Forestry Research Institute.

The Event Details (Umang Foundation)

The event’s chairperson is Ms. Muskan Negi, the brand ambassador of the Indian Election Commission and a visually impaired Ph.D. scholar. Umang Foundation coordinator Anjana Thakur and social work student Ritu Verma, both physically challenged, are the program’s coordinators. The goal of the event is to raise awareness among Umang Foundation students and other attendees about our responsibility towards the planet.

Keynote Speaker’s Message

Dr. Vinit Justoo will address the young audience on the importance of environmental conservation and share his experiences in the field. Ms. Muskan Negi will discuss the role of disabled youth in protecting the environment. Muskan Negi, who was recently appointed as an assistant professor at a college, will inspire the students with her personal journey of overcoming obstacles and achieving her goals.

Earth Day Pledge

Dr. Justoo will also lead a pledge ceremony where the young attendees will take an oath to protect the environment. Umang Foundation and its team hope that this event will encourage students and other attendees to be responsible citizens and make a positive impact on the planet.
