In a press statement issued from Shimla on 28th May 2005, PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to ensuring justice for the family of the late Engineer Vimal Negi. Addressing the media, he emphasized full cooperation with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as it conducts its inquiry into the matter.

Singh highlighted CM Sukhu’s firm stance against any form of indiscipline within the administration, stressing that no officer is above the law or service rules. The government has accepted the High Court’s decision to allow the CBI investigation and pledged to assist the agency wherever necessary.

The Minister also criticized the BJP for hastily submitting a memorandum to the Governor against the government, calling it a baseless and politically motivated move. He assured that the government would complete its full term despite the opposition’s attempts at disruption, accusing the BJP of engaging in ‘witch hunting’ for political gains.

Vikramaditya Singh urged all parties to avoid politicizing the tragic death of Vimal Negi, stressing that matters of public interest should transcend party lines. He called for unity and cooperation to ensure a fair and transparent process that delivers justice to all stakeholders.
