Public Works Department Minister (PWD) Minister Vikramaditya Singh today presided over a review meeting with the Regional Officer and Project Director of NHAI and assessed the progress of various ongoing and pending works of PWD and NHAI in the State. He directed the officers to expedite the completion of works within the stipulated timeframe to strengthen road connectivity across the region.
Vikramaditya Singh stressed on immediate repair and maintenance of damaged roads and bridges during the monsoon. He instructed officials to deploy the necessary manpower and machinery to expedite the restoration process, ensuring that residents do not face any inconvenience. PWD Minister also reviewed the road connectivity work for the Atal Institute of Medical Super Specialities (AIMSS) Chamiana from Bhattakufar in Shimla.
He urged officials to prioritize the completion of this project, emphasizing that proper road access was crucial for the hospital to become operational and serve the public effectively. He said that this super speciality hospital would play a pivotal role in providing specialized healthcare services to the community and improved road connectivity.
Vikramaditya Singh underscored that there should be no compromise in quality in the construction of roads and bridges. He said that adhering to high construction standards was essential for the durability and safety of infrastructure, as well as for maximizing the long-term benefits to the community. He called for regular inspections and quality assessments during construction projects to ensure that all works meet the required specifications and could withstand the region’s climatic challenges.
Secretary PWD Abhishek Jain, Special Secretary PWD Harbans Singh Brascon, Regional Officer NHAI Shimla Col. Ajay Singh Bargoti, Project Director NHAI Anand Kumar and other senior officials and NHAI attended the meeting.
